Outdoor Activities in Glasgow
Learn more about our fascinating city by taking one of the many guided tours the city has to offer. From art to music to history and even whisky you will find a walking tour to suit everyone.
Glasgow has many quirky, cobbled lanes to explore across the city. In the West, Ashton Lane is lined with a mix of great bars and restaurants. The Hidden Lane in trendy Finnieston offers independent shopping and a quaint tearoom, with pretty multi-coloured frontages. In the city centre near Buchanan Street, keep an eye out for fluorescent lighting and head for Mitchell Lane.
With over 90 parks and gardens, it is no wonder that Glasgow is known as the ‘Dear Green Place’. Why not take some time out to explore some of the stunning greenery within walking distance from the hotel.
We have 3 of the City’s largest parks within a short distance of the hotel;
Glasgow Green
A stone’s throw away from the city centre is the historic Glasgow Green. It is the city’s oldest park. Also set within this expansive park is the People’s Palace, a museum that is dedicated to the social history of Glasgow and its people.
Botanic Gardens
Not far from Byres Road, the Botanic Gardens offer a tranquil blend of green space and woodland walks. The Gardens are also home to two glasshouses, one of these being the beautiful Kibble Palace, which houses plants from all around the world and marble statues. There are self-guided trails to enjoy, including a tree trail and a river walk.
Kelvingrove Park
Kelvingrove Park is a classic example of a Victorian park, set on the banks of the River Kelvin. Two of the city’s most magnificent buildings stand proudly at either side of the park, Kelvingrove Art.
Pinkston Water Sports
For something a little more energetic just a 10 min journey outside the City Centre is home to Outdoor Pursuits Scotland! Who provide fun-filled adventure days including White Water Rafting, River Tubing and River Boogieboarding!
